Der gebürtige Essener ist ein begeisterter DJ der elektronischen Tanzmusik. insbesondere der Musikrichtung „House.“
Seine DJ-Sets springen zwischen den Subgenres Bass-, Elektro-, Future-, und Tech House.
Mit der vielseitigen und treibenden Auswahl seiner Songs weiß er das Publikum zu begeistern und mitzureißen. So einfach wie es den Anschein hat einen Song nach den anderen raus zu hauen, umso faszinierender ist es zu erleben, wie ein blinder Typ mit all den Reglern und Knöpfen am Mixer tüftelt und jeden einzelnen Übergang gestaltet und lebt.

Chris Weihrauch der 1984 geboren ist, beginnt seine DJ-Aktivität im Alter von 17 Jahren in einen Jugendhaus in seinem Heimatort Essen-Kray, im Stadtteil in dem er noch heute lebt.
Dort hat er Noch analog mit Turntables und Vinyl sich nach der Devise „Learning bei Doing“, die Basics des Mixens angeeignet Und beherrscht die Materie des Pitchbending und des Beatmatching Wortwörtlich blind.
Der Schock saß tief, als er 2010 erblindet und zunächst glaubt, dass er als DJ mit diesem Schicksalsschlag nicht mehr weiter kommt und er seine Leidenschaft aufgeben müsse. Doch nutzt er die fortschreitende Digitalisierung, und lernt den Umgang, sowie die wichtigsten Funktionen, Kniffe und Tricks des Digital DJing. Dies eröffnet ihm gänzlich neue Wege, um weitestgehend seine Leidenschaft mit sein Handikap wieder auszuüben.
Als er 2014 wieder mit dem Mixen anfängt, ist es vor allem sein Mut und sein Ehrgeiz, der nachhaltig Eindruck hinterlässt.
Er kennt keine Scheu vor dem Neuen und dem Ungewissen. Dies ist eher eine willkommene Herausforderung, die ihn anstachelt hartnäckiger zu sein und noch härter zu arbeiten. Wie er selbst sagt: „Aufgeben ist was für Menschen die Herausforderungen scheuen und kein Ehrgeiz haben, um nach neuen Wegen zu suchen und Möglichkeiten zu finden.“
Diese Einstellung führt ihn 2017 ins evangelische Jugendhaus „Gecko & Mobil“ in Essen-Kray. Dort gibt Chris Weihrauch ehrenamtlich Dj Workshops für Kinder und Jugendliche. Genau an diesem Ort hat alles für ihn angefangen.
Er hört nie auf dazu zu Lernen, bildet sich Immer weiter und arbeitet derzeit an neuen Gig-Möglichkeiten. Dabei verliert er, trotz Einschränkung, bis heute nicht den Spaß am Mixen.

Born in Essen, he is an enthusiastic DJ of electronic dance music. especially the music genre "House."
His DJ sets jump between the sub-genres of bass, electro, future and tech house.
With the diverse and driving selection of his songs, he knows how to inspire and sweep the audience away. As easy as it seems to knock out one song after the other, it is all the more fascinating to experience how a blind guy tinkers with all the controls and buttons on the mixer and creates and lives every single transition.

Chris Weihrauch, who was born in 1984, began his DJ activity at the age of 17 in a youth center in his hometown of Essen-Kray, in the district where he still lives today.
There he learned the basics of mixing analogously with turntables and vinyl according to the motto “learning while doing” and has literally blindly mastered the subject matter of pitch bending and beat matching.
The shock was deep when he went blind in 2010 and initially believed that this stroke of fate would not make him any further as a DJ and that he would have to give up his passion. But he uses the advancing digitization and learns how to use it, as well as the most important functions, tricks and tricks of digital DJing. This opens up completely new ways for him to exercise his passion again as far as possible with his handicap.
When he started mixing again in 2014, it was above all his courage and ambition that made a lasting impression.
He is not afraid of the new and the uncertain. This is more of a welcome challenge that spurs him on to be more persistent and work even harder. As he himself says: "Giving up is what people shy away from challenges and have no ambition to look for new ways and find opportunities."
This attitude led him to the Protestant youth center "Gecko & Mobil" in Essen-Kray in 2017. There Chris Weihrauch gives voluntary DJ workshops for children and young people. This is exactly where it all started for him.
He never stops learning, continues to educate himself and is currently working on new gig opportunities. Despite the restrictions, he still does not lose the fun of mixing.
