Lonelyness hits everybody,
and everybody gets the blues sometimes...

In the quiet of the empty street
I hear every single step under my feet
Beneath the street lamp light
My breathing clouds steam away into the night
And in the distance, still some firework rockets
My hands are cold in my pockets
In the twilight outside the blue café
Open every night, but closed today
I wath the snowflakes falling through the shades of grey
In the streets around the blue café
And in this lonely town, which nobody knows
'Round every corner, such a cold wind blows
In the midnight hour walkin' down the lane
Half a bottle gin runnin' through my veins
And all the people passin' by turn away from me
As I say hey little girl, I've been dreamin' 'bout you and me
I wanna see you again in the blue café
Where they're selling our dreams almost every night and day
On the park bench behind the city mall
I feel the night train running through the middle of my skull
And the snowflakes whirlin' around in the park
And settle dowan on the trees in the dark
And when I'm up again, the lights turn grey
So nothin' has changed on this blue New Years Day
I hear every single step under my feet
Beneath the street lamp light
My breathing clouds steam away into the night
And in the distance, still some firework rockets
My hands are cold in my pockets
In the twilight outside the blue café
Open every night, but closed today
I wath the snowflakes falling through the shades of grey
In the streets around the blue café
And in this lonely town, which nobody knows
