How in the world did I get here?
I heard a most peculiar sound
Walking alone in a valley
Right where a rainbow touched the ground
One chary step through the waterfall's blinds
Seized by a maelstrom of time
Drifting across this mystery realm
Ladders and scaffolds to climb
Fine quality spyglass
Won't focus or show anything
Mean damp mossy forest
May not let me go
Name one single god mortals can trust in
Ice bridges are melting
Paths crumble and gates disappear
Rail tunnels collapsing
Signs are out of date
Stairs suddenly end, where shall I turn to?
Who sent detectives observing each move?
Wrinkled old reptiles with goggles and gloves
Talk of a library carved from one oak
Hundreds of shelves with forbidden books
and secret pamphlets
Written in ink I detected this note:
"Stranger, your quest is to make an arrest
She's as alert as a cat on the roof
Stealing the gold coins and jewellery
from holy temples"
Guided by silvery voices
A haunted lighthouse caught my eye
Equipped with fourteen magic mirrors
Reflecting the scenes of days gone by
Maybe she's stranded just like myself
See what the mirrors reveal
Looks like our thief was spotted last night
Finally I'm hot on her heels
Ice bridges are melting
Paths crumble and gates disappear
Rail tunnels collapsing
Signs are out of date
Give back all your loot, we're going home now
I heard a most peculiar sound
Walking alone in a valley
Right where a rainbow touched the ground
One chary step through the waterfall's blinds
Seized by a maelstrom of time
Drifting across this mystery realm
Ladders and scaffolds to climb
