Ey wah gwaan!
Mi Jah Wonder, yuh know?
Let mi tell yuh a likkle story 'bout a likkle African bwoy who live a suffering life on di battlefield.
Ey likkle bwoy, see an feel Jah.
He give yuh strength an hope on a carefree life.
Yuh haffi run away, jus' run away.
So many problems in the world today.
Good times go away.
You have to leave your home one day.
Where can you stay?
And you have to run, as fast as you can.
Hope of a wonder, a wonder.
And you have to run, alongside the sun,
until the sun shines anymore.
The battlefield is your daily life.
Don't give up and prays. (Don’t give up and prays!)
No sunshine, no love but crying eyes.
And that's calling life?
Try to survive (Ohhhhhh!), look in Jah eyes.
Run along and realize,
that the world lies (That the world lies!), thus I ask why?
But a boy mustn't cry.
And you have to run (So run, yeah...), as fast as you can.
Hope of a wonder, a wonder.
And you have to run (So run, yeah...), alongside the sun,
until the sun shines anymore.
Why do you suffer in Gambia? (Why do you suffer in Gambia?)
Poor, poor crying Africa. (Africa!)
Selassie is calling whatta gwaan? (Selassie I!)
Ethiopian children have to run! (Dem run away!)
Hope of sunshine (Hope of sunshine!), that's a nice sign (That's a nice sign!),
when poor people feeling fine, Rastafari! (Yeahhh!)
Then it's your time (Then it's your time!), clear war and crime (Clear war and crime!).
Keep smiling, and let the mankind combine. (Yeahhh!)
And you have to run (So run, yeah...), as fast as you can.
Hope of a wonder, a wonder. (A wonder yeah!)
And you have to run (So run, yeah...), alongside the sun,
until the sun shines anymore.
So many problems in the world today. (So many problems!)
Good times go away. (Good times go away!)
You have to leave your home one day,
and where can you stay?
Find a new place (Find a new place!), and you'll never go astray.
Try on one day, to live with Reggae. (Yeahhh!)
Boy be strong again, liberate you from the chains.
And follow the trail to Zion's way.
You haven't to run, as fast as you can.
That is a wonder, a wonder.
You haven't to run.
