Born and raised in southern germany, Polygons childhood was influenced by alot of 80´s Synthpop, New Wave, Neue Deutsche Welle and Eurodance. After 10 Years of Skateboarding and Graffiti, which had a heavy Punk, Rock, Hip Hop and Funk imprint, everthing started about 1999-2000 with Dave Clarks Electric Boogie Vol.2 and Sven Väth´s Contact Album, plus a friend that was into this "Electric Kingdom" thing around that time. Due to the interest of video editing he bought his first mixing equipment around 2005, messing around with different styles of music. After laying down the spraycan more and more, lots of energy, creativity and passion needed to be transferred to something else.

That was the time, when clubbing culture hit him hard. Music started to become more than just a background noise or soundtrack. It meant social and emotional expression, cultural exchange and a platform everyone could join. This environment led to his first Dj experiences around 2006, where a lot of important connections to future friendships were made.

2008 flats and bars became too small and his crew decided to join the first "real" clubs.
"Elektro Science" was born. A formation of 6 people, all musicians, Djs and a lot of helping hands, that focused on a wide range of electronic dance music, from minimal to house to techno. Their unique musical and visual concept, gained lots of respect among other established parties and clubbers in the last years. Till 2010 lots of different projects came up, for example "RumpelKammer" which has a puristic, raw techno concept.

After countless exicting, excessive and tiring long nights, routine startet and the desire for a more personal, intimate expression, than just mixing records, continued crossing his mind.

Create....

It must have been around 1998 when he entered a store, stumbling upon 2 pieces of software he bought out of curiosity.
One one of them was "Rebirth 2.0" from Propellerhead the other one was called "Mixman Studio" from Steinberg. This was the first time he was messing around with something that could create a sound by itself, beside a GameBoy. Because he never played an instrument and was far away from
understanding musical structures, he was totally overstrained with a piece like Rebirth.

"But i remember that squeaky acid sound while turning the cutoff and modulation knobs felt so funny. In fact, i never made a single track by that time and to be honest, i never did at all. Beside some short Sessions with Codemaster´s "Music 2000" for playstation everything disappeared more and more and i focused on life outdoors."

Ten years later lots of things have changed. As a Dj, he was continuously surrounded by dance music, started digging Artists, labels and getting deeper into his favourite sound, understanding the essence of techno music.
Now, with a lot more background and skills, he gave it a shot and choosed his first sequencer. Ableton Live 7.

"By that time Djing had to move back and the long nights moved from the clubs back to my bedroom. It took more than one year to get into producing. Trial and error, learning everything by yourself. How to breathe through a sequencer and instruments. How to cope with sounddesign etc...
A long road to go, but worth trying."

Nowdays producing and Djing feed and back each other.
At the moment he prefers solid, dark, techno, with some industrial influnce, as well as melodic, melancholic house, elektro, minimal, etc....

"I´m quite open minded, so there is a lot to go for. It´s not about borders, it´s about emotions"
