Dark skies (Ishmael's Song)
Ever since I roam on dry land the rain is falling down
So the land ain't dry and the sky is hung with clouds
The muddy road I'm walking is feeling like a swell
That's rolling to the shore, to Nantucket or to hell
Refr.:
I walk under dark skies, I walk under dark skies all the way
I walk under dark skies, I walk under dark skies all the way
I followed a procession just to feel alive
But when I reached the graveyard there was no one by my side
So I dug a hole and put the box into the ground
And when I left the place there was no graveyard to be found
I'm gonna list a sailor, that's the life for me
This time I'll join a whaler and sail across the sea
I'm gonna leave behind loneliness and fears
Maybe for to find just bitterness and tears
Time will come I'll reach shores of home
Time will come I'll reach shores of home
And I'll go to the sea no more, and I'll go to the sea no more
Ever since I roam on dry land the rain is falling down
So the land ain't dry and the sky is hung with clouds
The muddy road I'm walking is feeling like a swell
That's rolling to the shore, to Nantucket or to hell
