[Verse 1]
I've been walking through the silence,
Trying to find a place to land.
Every road I've ever taken
Left another scar upon my hands.
I've been searching for an answer,
In the things I couldn't change.
And the harder I tried to hold on,
The more everything slipped away.
[Pre-Chorus]
And I don't know where I'm going,
But I know where I've been.
There's a thousand things I'm hiding,
Underneath my skin.
[Chorus]
And I can't fight the tears that ain't coming,
Or the moment of truth in my lies.
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah, I bleed just to know I'm alive.
[Verse 2]
I've been staring at the ceiling,
Counting hours in the dark.
Trying to remember when I started
Building walls around my heart.
There's a picture on the table,
Of a life I used to know.
And I wonder if that person
Would recognize me anymore.
[Pre-Chorus]
And I don't need another reason,
To pretend that I'm okay.
I'm just tired of believing
That the pain will fade away.
[Chorus]
And I can't fight the tears that ain't coming,
Or the moment of truth in my lies.
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah, I bleed just to know I'm alive.
[Bridge]
Maybe I was never fearless,
Maybe I was never strong.
Maybe all the things I carried
Were never mine to hold this long.
And if tomorrow comes without me
Knowing who I'm meant to be,
I'll stop running from the mirror
And face the man who's looking back at me.
[Final Chorus]
And I can't fight the tears that ain't coming,
Or the moment of truth in my lies.
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah, I bleed just to know I'm alive.
And I can't fight the tears that ain't coming,
Or the moment of truth in my lies.
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah, I bleed just to know I'm alive.
[Outro]
Just to know I'm alive.
I've been walking through the silence,
Trying to find a place to land.
