Im Jahre 2003 habe ich (Mario) mit meinem damals neuen Roland JV-1010-Synthesizer herumexperimentiert und war begeistert von den orchestralen Sounds. Eine Demoversion genau dieses Songs entstand, die bereits etwa 60% der in der Endfassung verwendeten Elemente enthielt. Der Versuch, die Streicher und Bläser mit einem elektronischen Beat zu kombinieren.
Damals bastelten wir an dem "Jenseits der Vernunft"-Album, für das wir mehr als genügend Songs in deutscher Sprache hatten. Für "Die schönen Bilder" fehlte irgendwie die Motivation, diesen Song hier wieder aufzurollen, obwohl wir zwischenzeitlich daran gewerkelt hatten. Jetzt wurde die Nummer mit reichlich Verspätung doch noch fertiggestellt. Meine persönliche Einschätzung: Sicher kein Meisterwerk, insbesondere textlich etwas schwach geraten. Aber trotzdem ein Titel, bei dem ich froh bin, ihn noch fertiggestellt zu haben. Als B-Seite für unsere Weihnachtssingle haben wir mit dieser Aufnahme hoffentlich eine gute Entscheidung getroffen.
