Singing sensation Kyla denied rumors that her steady relationship with boyfriend Rich Alvarez is affecting her career negatively. She even emphasized that the latter is rather serving as her inspiration to write songs and that her career is not in anyway on a slump.

This was how the singer reacted about the issue during an exclusive chat with the Manila Bulletin last Sunday at the opening of El Celino’s Restobar in Sgt. Esguerra St., Quezon City. She sang of couple of songs in the said event attended by Q.C Mayor Sonny Belmonte and TV host Boy Abunda.

"Nagkataon lang na matagal-tagal na rin akong walang bagong album kaya siguro akala ng iba nawawala na ako," said Kyla who is actually promoting her new album "Beautiful Days" under EMI Philippines. "Hindi naman ako totally nawawala. Wala lang akong pino-promote na album the past year. Pero ngayon meron na ulit kaya I’m hoping for the best."

Talks have it that Kyla was "more interesting" when she was still being paired to counterpart Jay-R, dubbed as the country’s R&B Prince.

Kyla happily noted that Rich, a PBA star playing for Red Bull, is encouraging her to write songs. Her album title track "Beautiful Days" is said to be one song he wrote for Rich who incidentally got injured and will not be able to go into the hardcourt for three months.

"Nakakalungkot na na-injure siya. Siyempre apektado ako kapag may ganitong pangyayari," the lady singer expressed.
