Im Song geht es um eine alte Love Story, die nicht gut ausging und wahrscheinlich auch von vornherein zum Scheitern verurteilt war - aber wer will das im Strudel der Leidenschaften schon wahr haben, nicht wahr?
Jedenfalls ist das Thema nun auch musikalisch verarbeitet...
Ich habe, weil die Geschichte schon einige Jahrzehnte zurückliegt, auch ein passendes Musik-Genre gewählt, so irgendwo zwischen den "Zombies" und Van Morrison, oder zumindest so ähnlich. Das Gitarrensolo hat einen kleinen Jazz- bzw. Rockabilly-Touch, passt aber m.E. gut.
Mit meiner neuen Gretsch bin ich teilweise schon recht nah an meinem Signature-Tone, wie man ihn von meiner Duesenberg kennt.
Auch Hank Marvin geht schon ganz gut :-) (Liebe Kinder, das ist ein alter Herr, der einmal berühmt war für sein Spiel auf der Gitarre. Angeblich hat er die erste Fender Stratocaster in England besessen).
Auch meinen "Bill Frisell"-Sound bekomme ich sehr gut mit der Gretsch hin, fast genau so gut oder besser als mit meinen Telecastern.
Ansonsten hat der Song alles, was man von mir gewöhnt ist: 2 Strophen, 1 (mehrstimmige) Bridge mit einem "Opratko-Ganztonschritt" am Ende, 3 Refrains mit Background-Gesang. Alles da, was ein Song so braucht.
Ein kleiner musikalischer Gag am Ende: Der Bass zitiert das Leitmotiv von "Eternity's Breath" vom Mahavishnu Orchestra. Warum? Weil es ganz gut hin passt und weil es mir Spaß gemacht hat.

Diverse Plugins, besonders zu erwähnen ist der neue Pulsar 1178 Compressor, der bei allen Stimmen und beim Bass eingesetzt wurde. Ein wirklich gutes Stück Software.
