Das ist keine Hommage an Carlos Santana, an den habe ich gar nicht gedacht, obwohl ich seine Musik sehr mag. Beeinflusst hat mich diesmal in erster Linie John Hollenbecks Claudia Quintett. Als das Lied Anfang der 80er Jahre entstand, hatte ich eine kleine Drummaschine (Fricke MFB-501) mit Preset-Rhythmen. Eins dieser Presets hieß "Beguine" und war Grundlage für "Wendy". Auf meiner Webseite http://www.usimon.com habe ich unter Equipment auch einen kleinen Artikel zu dieser Drummaschine geschrieben.
