THOSE TREES
Those trees, they have to go
Those trees are in the way
I’m sorry to say
They’ve been here longer than me
How I hate to cut a tree
In our garden there's no light
You never know if its day or night
The bushes, they have overgrown
There’s moss on every stone
I saw my Dad plant pine after pine
I stood with them, as they stood in line
I never knew how tall they’d grow
Only to the highest winds they’d bow
My little girl, she had a swing
That hung between those trees
Higher and higher flew that thing
I still hear her scream with glee
Those trees, they have to go
Those trees are in the way
I’m sorry to say
They’ve been here longer than me
How I hate to cut a tree
In our garden there's no light
You never know if its day or night
The bushes, they have overgrown
There’s moss on every stone
I saw my Dad plant pine after pine
I stood with them, as they stood in line
I never knew how tall they’d grow
Only to the highest winds they’d bow
My little girl, she had a swing
That hung between those trees
Higher and higher flew that thing
I still hear her scream with glee
