GEARSHIFT - Desperately

Wow, it's rally been quite a while, since I last uploaded a GEARSHIFT song to this place.
I hope everybody is still doin' fine and is being' healthy.

I've been watching TV a lot lately, I guess like many of us are these days. And it instantly
struck me, that there is a fundamental problem in our world, hence this song kind of put
itself together.

So I hope you like this one. And feel free to comment on it, if you like.

Desperately - GEARSHIFT

When I turn on the TV
all the stuff that I see
Would be enough
to make an bold man cry
I see people in pain,
people without name,
Dying of a terrible lie.

I see horrible starvation
Rampaging the nations.
I see warlords take control
While the people pay the toll.
I see children deportation
And can only shut my eyes.
Shut my eyes.

Power to the poor
Down there on their knees
Decade over decade
Fighting desperately

If we ignore their pain
If ignorance is our seed
We will harvest hatred
dying desperately

Now, I sit here confused
'bout the imagery used
What to do from all that I've seen
It's like history repeating
and media keep feeding
these cataclystic pictures to my brain

Is all this information
just part of the show?
Or is this meant to show us
what we need to do.
Would media still show this
if people switched away?
Would they stay?
