Ende 2003 setze sich der Vierspänner Thalamus in dieser Formation zusammen, stellte seine Weichen für die Lok des vorantreibenden Zuges, und betrieb in den folgenden Jahren während der Fahrt detailreiche Feinjustage aller Parameter.
Musikalisch mal Flächenteppich, mal Hackbrett. Kompositionen an Stimmungskurven entlang.
Zwischen wabernden Gitarrenwänden und Bratriffs, schönen bis schreienden Vocals und einer präzisen Rhythmusgruppe, die physisch taktil operiert, findet sich der Stil, der immer eindeutig Thalamus ist.
Der bandnamentliche Verweis auf's Hirn lässt ahnen, dass die Musik und die Emotion nicht am rezipierenden Trommelfell stehen bleiben, sondern sich mit ganzem Körper weiterhin erfahren lassen.
Mit den Jahren teilte man sich in illustren Kombinationen die Bühnen nah und fern. Ob national mit Heart Break Motel und Elke, oder deutschpoppig mit 2raumwohnung und Paula, ob international mit den Schweden des Dexter Jones Circus Orchestra und Moloken, oder mit The (International) Noise Conspiracy und The Chapman Family. Sogar mit Legenden wie Faith No More konnte auf einer Russland Tour zusammen mit Bröselmaschine die Bühne geteilt werden. Clubs von Portsmouth in England bis Perm in Russland wurden bespielt. Auch auf bejubelten Festivals ist man gerne Gast (Freefall Festival in Moers, Oberhausener Olgas Rock), zuletzt in Russland auf dem Creation Of Peace sowie dem Rockline Festival. Auch beim Newcomer TV im WDR durfte Thalamus nicht fehlen.
Nach zwei CD-Veröffentlichungen ist gerade das Album "Mr. Avenson" auf dem Duisburger Independentlabel Le Fink Records erschienen, auf dem es Thalamus schließlich schaffen, ihre live freigesetzte Energie in einem Tonträger zu manifestieren.

Between spheric walls of sound and heavy guitar riffing, between vocals from beauty to beasty, and precise rhythms, the typical style of the band can be defined. Thalamus refers to the fact, that the music should not stop in being heard, but can go emotionally further on into the whole body.
Over the years the band shared the stage with various artists. Whether national with Heart Break Motel and Elke, with 2raumwohnung and Paula, swedish with the Dexter Jones Circus Orchestra and Moloken, or international with The (International) Noise Conspiracy, The Chapman Family or even legends like Faith No More. Clubs and Festivals from Germany to England to Russia. And even TV Gigs have been included. In 2012 Thalamus has toured Russia together with a german legend from the 60ies and 70ies, Bröselmaschine.
After two albums the Band has just released a third one, "Mr. Avenson", on independent label Le Fink Records. Finally Thalamus have put together all energy of a liveperformance and distilled it into a documented audio environment.
