„Stop Play and Record“ – kurz: SPaR – ist eine Ende 2009 gegründete Band aus dem Norddeutschen Raum, der ja bekannt dafür ist richtig gute Bands zu haben. Die Jungs haben sich dem Indie Stil verschrieben und haben Einflüsse aller Art.
SPaR haben Songs, die die Leute nicht mehr aus dem Kopf bekommen und noch lange nach dem hören singen und summen. Außergewöhnlich ist, dass SPaR ihre Songs hauptsächlich in Englischer und Portugiesischer Sprache, mit brasilianischen Einflüssen wie z.B. Maracatu, schreiben.
Wer At The Drive-In mochte, wird auch SPaR mögen.

Bandbio – English
After three years of not playing music together and a lot of different experiences everybody made during that time, we decided to start a new project together. Our music should be different to what we have done before and we wanted to try out new stuff and ways.
So we started playing together again in the end of 2009 and where totally open-minded for new stuff. Due to the fact that our singer spent one year abroad in Brazil, and heard a lot of Brazilian Rock Music over there, his influence was obvious and helpful to combine our style of music with the Brazilian style and we realized it can work out well, if we will try hard enough.
Some changes are already made and now the audience is possible to listen to songs which are in English as well as in Portuguese. Maybe some will be in German, who knows yet. We also try to include more instruments then only guitar, bass, drum and the vocals. There is already a little influence of the so called Maracatu music which is very common in the northeastern part of Brazil.
There are a lot of cool band names in your head when you think about how to call the band, but in the end the majority of them are already taken. Lucky for us, the coolest idea, nobody had taken yet so here we are now, ready to rock the world, STOP PLAY and RECORD!
